On May 1st, 2018 I started to write a blog about one of my favorite weddings ever:
Cody and Kellie tied the knot last weekend! They are such a perfect match and it was an honor to be a part of their big day. The love these two share is out of this world.
Chase and I traveled down to Virginia to meet up with family and friends. We stayed in at the Fairview Farm events' farmhouse conveniently located on site for their wedding which made delivery a breeze. The venue was GORGEOUS and had us dreaming of moving from our chilly Michigan spring climate to their warm inviting weather. Being at a wedding always puts us in a good mood but the people there were nicer and that vitamin D was really helping out with our frost bitten attitudes.
I should have finished... WOAH I'm sorry I'm so behind. Its my goal to get these blogs out! But funny enough we found out we were pregnant on the way home from this wedding. Crazy how creating a new life can slow a girl down! I'm sure this bride would agree, she and Cody are expecting their first sweet baby in November. expect baby shower pics ;)
Anyway, Enjoy these photos of this beautiful Virginia wedding, by Shannon Hennessey. The photographer, by the way, is amazing, check her out : https://shannonhennessey.com/
(disclaimer: if its not a great picture I'm the one who took it. Don't blame Shannon)
Kellie caught the dusty blue trend before it hit got big, that little trend setter. Everyone looked perfect with their soft blush, pinks and white florals. and TONS of greenery, mostly eucalyptus to give her a feminine garden bouquet.
The ranunculus opened up beautifully to be the perfect buttonhole for the groom, Cody.
The florals above are not our work, they are artificial and are an option the venue provides but I thought this photograph shows off how beautiful Fairview Farm Events is! I mean look at these gorgeous wooden tables. It may be a barn but you are no limited to one style. You could have a romantic fairytale wedding, rustic barn wedding, and even a boho wedding.
If a couple is into recycling, or is a baller on a budget, one of our favorite tips is to use the bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces. I love when couples deck out their head table with beautiful florals.
This bride wanted GORGEOUS quality blooms like David Austin garden roses, "Romantic Antike", fluffy ranunculus ( a personal fav of mine), and lots of eucalyptus, so it only made sense that she would reuse her bridesmaids bouquets.
It was all about the little details for Kellie, and it definitely shows.
And while she cared about the little details, I LOVED working with Kellie because she gave me artistic freedom. I always want to hear from couples about what their style is, color schemes, and inspiration but I love when they trust me to take all of that information and create a beautiful look that is uniquely theirs.
Kellie and Cody went with a minimalistic wedding cake, which I did hear that they enjoyed just as much on their one year anniversary. Cake by "Dessert First" RVA
Cody, rocking his ranunculus boutonnière, looking about as happy and as excited as a groom can be on his wedding day. If you want a chill bride and groom an event planner always helps. Kellie and Cody hired Illumination Events Studio and they were fantastic. Chase and I met Chelsea from the studio and her girls... they honestly has us packing our bags to move to Virginia until we found out we were expecting. but we would jump at the chase to work with them again.
I can't get over how beautiful her wedding was at every angle. There was so much texture and dimension going on in her bouquet I could have just stared at her wedding florals all day. I love how the sweet peas are dancing off the side of this bridal bouquet. A bridal bouquet should be an expression of the day, and I felt this one totally captured the wedding's vibes.
I could go on forever about this destination wedding. I am so blessed to have been able to be a part of Cody and Kellie's day. I hope you enjoy these photos and find some wedding inspiration of your own.
