Hoya Carnosa 'Rubra' - Very Full & Trailing - 6" Pot

Hoya Carnosa 'Rubra' has a beautiful inner variegation full of white, cream, pink, red, and green splashes and swirls. New growth emerges a bright pink or red and slowly changes into the creamy variegation this cultivar is known for. Once mature, this Hoya prefers to be planted in a hanging basket to allow its vines to spill over the edge and cascade.

 

Hoya Care Tips

Light Level: Medium to Bright Indirect

Humidity: Medium to High

Water: Allow to dry out. Do not overwater. 

Medium: Well draining, chunky soil.

This is one of my favorite plants. It arrived in good shape about six months ago—a little smaller than I thought it would be from the pictures, but pretty and healthy. It had some leaf damage from travel initially. I removed all those and let it settle into a spot it seems to like. I haven’t repotted or anything. It’s had no big issues since it arrived and it now double the size it was when it arrived. I found a special fertilizer that’s supposed to help Hoyas bloom and am hoping to see them sometime soon. Very happy with this plant.

Half of the plants leaves have turned brown and fallen off. The plants weren’t packaged well so I’m not sure if this one was damaged by the cold or not. I paid for 4 heat packs which were all placed in the bottom of the box, far from the foliage. The other plants seem to be doing well. Super disappointed.
