Rhipsalis Oblonga
Rhipsalis boliviana is a jungle cactus native to the cloud forests of Bolivia, producing long, flat, leaf-like stems that trail and cascade as the plant matures. Also known as Lepismium bolivianum, it grows as an epiphyte in its natural habitat, clinging to tree branches rather than rooting in soil, which gives the stems a soft, ribbony quality unlike the stiff, spiny structure of desert cacti. Stems are segmented and slightly flattened, deep green in color, and can develop pinkish edges under brighter light conditions. In the right conditions, small white to pale pink star-shaped flowers appear along the stems, occasionally followed by tiny ornamental fruits.
